Adopt A School Program

City Dream Centre works with Surrey's high needs schools and helps others in the community to get involved, providing support to more than 6000 kids and their families every year, many of whom are living below the poverty line.

Working closely with teachers, school administrators and the School Boards, we have developed a comprehensive program that takes into account the specific needs of each school to ensure they are supported in the best way possible, and connects them with a church or organization as their 'Adopter" who will be their regular contact. With the continued support of community members like yourself, we are able to run the following year round initiatives.

Year-round Initiatives

Food Hampers: City Dream Centre provides thousands of hampers each year. Single bag weekend hampers are delivered every Thursday, while school is in session, to families without enough food over the weekends. In July and August larger hampers are given to families every two weeks so they have what they need over the summer break. At Christmas, extra large, extra fun hampers are distributed for families who need help while school is out. We welcome parents to request this support through their school.
In partnership with our adopters we pack, wrap and distribute over 2600 gifts each year and distribute them to kids in our adopted schools.
Weekly noon hour sessions, fun activities to engage at risk youth, equipping them against the danger of gangs and traffickers. Sessions are designed to help kids learn about courage, strength, confidence, and their own value.
Every August we host more than 2000 attendees who enjoy a variety of activities and support as they get their kids ready for the new school year. There are free kids haircuts, free new and used clothing, manicures for mom, kid’s fun activities and games, and 1500 backpacks with school supply kits are given away.
